I was wrong again, but props to the makers of the anime, they made Conan check out the back of the watch of the victim. He wanted to see if there are some engravings on the back side. For example names, dates and such that means he wanted to check weather or not the watch was the victims or it got switched. (Btw the piano at the confession was cool)

Love to see how the methods for the cases are adapting with the times, I was leaning towards a more traditional deception like the special effects make-up, but the technology method was hinted at several times. Never would've guessed she performed the murder using iPads, great solution(✿◠‿◠) But I'm starting to think that maybe getting reverted back to a little girl by the Apotoxin isn't such a bad thing if I'd get to spend the night cuddling with those two pretty nee-chans(。●́‿●̀。) lol

The motive was what again? It made no sense, and how did it fit in with the old man? I've seen better fillers than this.

he was a retired schoolteacher. so that means he was living on a pension/retirement etc. the stockbroker swindled him so badly he couldn't live alone anymore. so, instead of burdening his daughter by moving in with her, the ol fella decided to kill himself in a way that would make it look like a murder. maybe the stockbroker would get pinched for it.

or maybe the ol fella had a life insurance policy that wouldn't pay out for suicide, and he did it for the money so his daughter would be provided for.

i believe the key to the mangaka figuring out the scene was staged was the old schoolteacher borrowed that Roomba from her and hadn't returned it yet. did you notice any high-tech or even moderately technologically advanced gadgets in the ol fella's apartment? Kazuha even mentioned how his 'suicide chair' was exactly like the very old and limited production ones at her home.

your last sentence, did you think these two were filler episodes? because they're not. if i'm mistaken, sorry. :) tankobon volume 79 chapter3 aka WeeklyShonenSunday files 831-833

the mangaka killed the stockbroker both for revenge of her old homeroom teacher but she also did it in a way that would both mimic her teacher's attempt at a murderous suicide and honor/surpass it. since in her own words via the subs, "But in this case it was pardoned as a suicide right away."
